The median age at autism diagnosis declined slightly from 7 years of age in 2015 to 6 years in 2024. Male patients are increasingly diagnosed earlier with the median age at diagnosis dropping from 7 years in 2015 to 5 in 2024. However, the median age for females remained near 8 years over the same period.

Nondiabetic adults prescribed a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), intermittent glucose monitoring (such as testing strips), or no glucose monitoring had negligible changes to their average HbA1c 6 to 18 months following their prescription or initial HbA1c.

Diabetic patients with an HbA1c between 7.0 and 7.4% are 13% more likely to experience a novel myocardial infarction (MI) and 8% more likely to experience a novel stroke compared to those with an HbA1c between 6.75 and 6.99%.

Patients who sustained a ≥10% weight loss over 18 months had an average LDL reduction of 6.2 mg/dL, compared to 2.7 mg/dL among patients who had little to no weight change and 1.9 mg/dL among those who lost and then regained weight.

Children prescribed 5 to 9 courses of antibiotics before age 5 are 7% more likely to be obese at age 6 compared to those with no antibiotic exposure. Those prescribed 10 or more antibiotics before age 5 are 14% more likely to become obese at age 6. 

Nondiabetic patients with higher HbA1c levels are more likely to experience novel myocardial infarction (MI). Those with an average HbA1c of 5.4–5.6% are 6% more likely compared to those with an HbA1c between 5.0 and 5.3%. The increase is greater with higher average HbA1c levels, reaching 21% more likely among those with an HbA1c of 6.1–6.4%. 

In support of the widely held understanding that first babies are more likely to be born “late,” we found that deliveries go beyond 41 weeks’ gestation 1.53 times more frequently among mothers with a first-time delivery compared to those who have previously delivered, confirming anecdotal wisdom.

Patients with an active patient portal account at the time of scheduling their appointment were 21.5 % less likely to no-show than those without an account, with a no-show rate of 6.2% for those with a patient portal account compared to 7.9% for those without. 

Patients with bone density disorders prescribed bisphosphonates are 5% less likely to experience an ischemic stroke than those prescribed calcium or vitamin D.

Children who receive antibiotics during the first year of life do not have an increased likelihood of celiac disease by age 6 compared to those who did not receive any antibiotics.

Salpingectomies were more than twice as common as tubal ligations in 2024. The ratio of salpingectomies increased from 1.2 in 2015 to 3.3 in 2024, demonstrating a change of practice in female sterilization.

The rate of lingual frenotomies, the surgical release of tissue under the tongue, or tongue-tie, performed for newborns increased from 98 per 10,000 babies in Q1 of 2015 to a peak of 212 per 10,000 babies in Q2 2021 and then trended slightly down to 158 per 10,000 babies by Q4 2024.

HbA1c screening for teens at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes has risen from 1.4% of patients in 2018 to more than 2% of patients in the first quarter of 2025. The proportion of these screening results that indicate prediabetes has risen 84% for males and 75% for females since 2018. 

Women are 10.7% more likely than men to reach a systolic blood pressure (SBP) below 130 mmHg after one month of antihypertensive treatment, and 9.5% more likely to reach a SBP below 130 mmHg after three months. 

Of women aged 40 to 54, 77.3% who use a patient portal are up to date with their breast cancer screening, compared to only 58.1% of non-users.

Colorectal surgeries consistently had the highest rate of surgical site infections (SSIs) of all surgeries studied and have seen a 21% increase in the percentage of procedures resulting in infection since Q4 2019. 

Women aged 50 and older on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) administered on the skin are 22-27% less likely to experience various clotting disorders, such as stroke and embolism, compared to those treated with HRT administered vaginally. 

Among adults with an LDL cholesterol test result of 190 mg/dL or higher, 25.1% had no documented lipid-lowering medication.
